Hacks for Your RV

When you invest in an RV at our Washington DC area RV dealership, you’re investing in the spirit of adventure and exploration–not to mention in the ability to actually relax and enjoy the trip! The inside of your RV provides you with practically limitless space compared to a normal car or SUV while on a road trip. As any RV veteran will tell you, though, it’s crucial to make the most of that space to keep your RV feeling open, welcoming, and comfortable.

So how can you cash in on your space and make the most of it? The experts at Dylans RV have some great hacks that you can enjoy with just a little bit of ingenuity and effort.

Maximize Your Usable Counter Space

Your RV might have a default sink cover, which allows you to store things in the sink when it’s not in use and to get a bit more counter space. You can do one better, though, by trimming a cutting board to fit in the same space.

RV kitchen space

With a few simple cuts with a handsaw, you’re looking at usable space that doubles s a built-in cutting board. Bonus points if you align the handle hole or drill a new hole so that the sink can be used while the cutting board is in place!

Build a Custom Stove Cover

If your RV doesn’t have a built-in stove cover, you can build a simple one by tacking rails to ride along the side of the stove onto a piece of plywood. This allows you to use the area as counter space when the stove isn’t in use, and the cover can double as a serving tray or spare flat surface when you need it. Just be sure to remove it before turning the stove on.

Bring Your Kitchen Outdoors

The outside of your new RV is just as much a part of your home-on-the-go as the inside, especially when you’re camping or tailgating around Washington DC. A campfire isn’t always the way to go, though, and a propane grill can be the perfect addition.

Propane grilling

Instead of lugging a spare propane tank around, you can opt to install a kit that allows you to quickly and easily connect your grill to your RV’s existing propane supply. If you’re not comfortable with this sort of install, just let our team know and we can help you get set up.

Carefully curating your space can help stretch the room in your RV, particularly in the kitchen. Have some other tips to recommend, or want to talk with our team about the perfect RV for you? Let us know by contacting us online or by giving us a call at (856) 228-0090 today!
